Pipe Spring National Monument, a cultural and historical site, was established on 31 May 1923. On 15 October 1966, the monument was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The water from the Pipe Spring has nurtured plants, animals and human beings for ages in the dry desert. The spring was discovered by the Puebloans and the Kaibab Paiute Indians, later the Mormon settlers brought cattle in the area.
To begin with, the tourists should make a trip to the visitor centre and get the necessary information about the Pipe Spring and the region as well. A museum has also been set up recently in the park for the visitors. A fortified ranch house, the Winsor Castle, is a must-see destination. The monument also has a beautiful garden that is worth visiting. |
