Pinnacles National Monument is basically the remains of an old volcano in the Salinas Valley of California. It is believed that the earliest inhabitants of this region were the Native Americans called the Costanoans.
There are a variety of options for people with different interests, ensuring a memorable holiday. The region is home to almost 400 species of bees which is a rare thing in a small area. The High Peaks is the best place to catch a glimpse of the condors, a rare species of bird. There are a number of adventure sport options like hiking, camping, rock climbing, bird watching and wildflower viewing available at the Pinnacles National Monument. The Bear Gulch Cave and the Balconies Cave are the two famous talus caves in this protected area and are worth visiting. |
