Colorado is located in the Rocky Mountain region of the USA. It is bordered by Kansas and Nebraska in the east. In the south lies the rugged San Juan Mountains, while to the west of the mountains lies the Colorado Plateau. The highest point in the state and in the whole of the Rocky Mountains is Mount Elbert at 4400 m.
