Biscayne National Park, established on 28 June 1980, is a preserve for the Biscayne Bay and 95 % of its area is covered by water. The earliest known inhabitants of this area were the Tequestas Indians, followed by the Spanish.
This park offers a lot to adventure sport lovers. They can choose from boating, snorkelling, fishing, camping, scuba diving and many more such activities. Convoy Point, giving a good view of the Biscay Bay, is a beautiful picnic area. Florida Keys, the largest island in the park, has been formed from coral reef. This beautiful island is a major attraction for the visitors. Moreover, the coral reef itself is a centre of attraction with its colourful and unique animals and plants. The red, black and white mangroves in the park are also worth visiting. |
