Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail was established on 21 March 1978 to commemorate the route taken by the expedition that was led by Lewis and Clark. The trail passes through eleven states in America, one of which is Idaho.
Lewis and Clark Visitor Centre is the right place to get acquainted with the region, its history and culture. The Bitterroot Mountains, which was once home to the Salish, the Nez Perce and the members of the expedition, are considered excellent for hiking. The Nez Perce National Historical Park and the Sacajawea Interpretive, Cultural and Educational Centre are major attractions of the part historic trail passing through Idaho. Similarly, the Idaho Historical Museum is a great place for all the history lovers. |
