Officially designated as a national lakeshore in 1966, the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore is governed by the National Park Service. It offers spectacular scenery with its natural archways, sand dunes, beaches and waterfalls.
Set amidst a cool and shady valley, the Munising Falls are a delight to watch with the endless scenic trails which worth a visit.
The Sand Point is a famous bird watching and swimming area which also consists of the Point Marshal Trail, an interpretive trail. Visitors can also visit the Munising Coast Guard Station and the maritime historical exhibits.
Also, the Miners Castle is a breathtaking nature trail with various picnic spots and recreational activities. It also offers spectacular views of the Lake Superior. |
