Missouri: Introduction and History

Missouri has an area of 180,693 sq km and a population of more than 5.5 million people. The capital is Jefferson City.

Missouri is located in the mid-western region of the USA. It is bordered by Iowa, Illinois, Tennessee, Kentucky, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska and Kansas. The two largest rivers in the state are the Mississippi and the Missouri. The picturesque Ozark Mountains dominate the Southern Missouri region.
