The rich historical heritage of New Mexico can be witnessed at the historical site of Coronado State Monument. Fort Selden State Monument reflects the military life of the past. The Jemez State Monument is perhaps one of the most beautiful prehistoric sites in the South-west. It includes ruins of a 500-year-old Indian village and the San José de los Jemez church dating to 1610.
