Oklahoma: Introduction and History

Oklahoma, USA has a total area of 181,136 sq km. Having a population of about 3,450,600, its capital is Oklahoma City.

The state of Oklahoma has a diverse terrain. The three principal mountain ranges of the region are Ouachitas, Arbuckles and Kiamichis. The climate of Oklahoma ranges from a humid subtropical climate to a semi-arid climate. The tourism department has divided the state into six regions—the Red Carpet Country, Great Plains Country, Frontier Country, Green Country, Kiamichi Country and Lake and Trail Country.

Oklahoma’s culture is an amalgamation Southern, Western and Native American culture. The state is a leading producer of oil and food. The main agricultural exports from the state are soy, wheat, cattle, dairy, poultry and cotton.
