Texas guarantees its visitors a fun time, with several avenues for their entertainment. Texas boasts of some very peaceful beaches like the Stewart Beach Park on Galveston Island. With a number of ranches, Texas provides for some authentic Western hospitality, complete with rodeo. Most of these ranches are spread over the Lone Star State Region.
The Stockyards National Historic District is the biggest cattle, mule, hog, sheep and horse marketing centre in the south-west, where one can also view the Livestock Exchange Building. The US Lexington Museum on the Bay is a must see. It is an aircraft carrier from World War II, converted into a museum. Also, it is worth visiting the popular Alamo, the small and graceful church from San Antonio.
‘Texas’ Musical Drama, presented at the Palo Duro Canyon State Park relates the Texas Panhandle, an event not be missed. The annual festival of Fort Griffin Fandangle recreates the Old West atmosphere, with cowboys, Indians, longhorns, stage coaches and railroad trains.
