Monument Hill was built in 1851 by the US Boundary Commission during a survey for the United States in Mexico. The hill is almost 1,158 feet above sea level which comes to 352.96 meters high. There is the Base and Meridian Wildlife Area below the mountain hill, which contains all riparian habitats in and along the Gila River. This hill is also a must see attraction in Avondale.
