The Queen Mine in Bisbee was one of the riches copper mines in the history. Opened in 1877, it was closed when Phelps Dodge stopped mining operations in the city in mid 1970s. The mine, opened again as a tour for visitors in 1976. At present, this place receives around 50,000 people each year. On such amazing tour, one can explore one of the oldest copper mines in Arizona. The tour guides are former miners, who show how the mines were used to be operated. The mine has natural ventilation to it due to drifts and shafts throughout it. Its temperature is 47 degrees, and so the visitors are advised to bring a sweater even during the summer time.
