Glendale lies in Maricopa County in Arizona, USA and is 9 miles to the northwest of downtown Phoenix. The city has a total area of 58.8 sq miles and a population of 246,531 according to the 2006 census.
Glendale has a desert climate with hot summers and mild winters. Rainfall is much less compared to other parts of the United States as is snowfall. July is the warmest month and January the coolest. The hot arid climate in the city ensures that it is sunny most of the time with very little humidity.
The city offers easy access to art and entertainment venues in Phoenix, which is close by. Glendale is also home to the National football Leagues, hockey leagues and basketball association and every spring nine major baseball teams come to Phoenix for training.
