Historic Sahuaro Ranch is in downtown Glendale and is a seventeen acre property with a rose garden. This ranch was built in 1885 and is now listed in the national register of historic places.
A number of events are held at the ranch including the Antique Tractor and Engine Show.
Cerreta Candy Company is a family owned candy factory where the process of manufacturing candy, from production to wrapping, can be seen. The tour of this delicious factory takes just half an hour and it is open from Monday to Friday.
Thunderbird Park is a mountain reserve with a thousand acres of desert land. It has a number of biking and jogging trails and horse riding, hiking, camping and other activities are possible.
Glendale Xeriscape Botanical Garden is one of the best demonstration gardens with four acres of land growing more than a thousand varieties of desert plants.
