Peoria is the 9th largest city in Maricopa County in Arizona, USA, with a population of 142,024.
The city was named after the Peoria tribe. New River and Agua Fria River are the only two rivers that flow through Peoria where they create numerous creeks and washes that flow inside the city. On the northern end, there are many smaller hills and mountains.
The traditional grid system of Phoenix city was employed while constructing the streets of Peoria. The city’s climate is very hot during summer and cool during winter. The rainfall is average and is spread evenly throughout the year.
The government of Peoria consists of a mayor and a city council made up of 6 district representatives, all of whom are elected.
