Peoria houses a large water recreation area called Lake Pleasant Regional Park, which contains camping areas and offers a variety of boating and fishing activities.

Another major recreational facility is The Peoria Sports Complex, which was built in 1994. This is another prominent recreational facility that provides a spring training site for both the San Diego Padres and Seattle Mariners. It was the first Baseball Major League facility shared by 2 teams for spring training games and player development throughout the year.

Another facility which provides a fun learning experience is the Challenger Space Centre which spans about 20,000 square feet and offers simulations in space missions for interested individuals or groups.

Peoria Historical Society Museum offers various programmes, events and tours for both locals and visitors. They deal with the history of Peoria through rich exhibits and artwork. Canyon Raceway offers the ultimate thrilling experience for the adventurous enthusiasts with their dirt-track racing tournaments.
