Char's Has the Blues is the most happening club in Phoenix for the Blues.
Char's was earlier in the century opened as a house on the busy 7th Ave and later got the make-over to a more commercial establishment when it served as a store and a Mexican food restaurant. Then in 1985 it was turned into a Blues club by its new owner who presented the bar to his wife Charlene as a birthday gift, thus garnering the name was "Char's Has the Blues". The club is currently known for its music and has been named "Best Blues Bar in Town" by the Phoenix New Times 7 years consecutively.
