The Children Museum of Phoenix was founded in 1998 as the Phoenix Family Museum, by a small group of volunteers.

The mission of this museum is to engage the muscles, minds and imagination of the children and the grown-ups who care about them. There are hands on interactive exhibits, which are designed by children ages from birth to 10 years of age.

The focus is to learn through play, especially on early childhood education and school readiness. This museum is situated in the historic Monroe School Building in Phoenix.
