The Hall of Flame Fire Museum in Phoenix is a must-see. The museum contains almost an acre of fire history exhibits dating back from 1725 with displays of fire fighting-history coming from all over the world, including England, France, Austria, Germany and Japan. The museum is almost perfect for any little boy or girl fascinated with fire trucks along with a great play area for kids.
The museum houses six different exhibit galleries that mostly contain restored pieces of fire apparatus which were used to battle structural fires in towns and cities from around the world. There is a gallery dedicated to wildland firefighting (a one-of-a-kind exhibit in the United States) and another gallery devoted to the firefighters who volunteer or commit themselves full time to protecting the public.
The museum is located on East Van Buren Street and is open Monday through Saturday from 9:00am to 5:00pm and Sunday from 12:00pm to 4:00pm. Admission rates are $6 for adults, $5 for seniors, $4 for children ages 6-17, $1.50 for children ages 3-5 and children under the age of 3 are free. For more information, call (602) 275-3473.
