Established in 1054, the Estrella Mountain Regional Park outside of Phoenix is over 19,840 acres of desert and mountains with a similar appearance to the landscape seen by the first settlers and explorers to the area.
For visitors wanting to check out the pristine desert and the only grass picnic area in the Maricopa County Park System, then this park is for you. There are plenty of activities available, including fishing, nearby golfing, hiking, horseback riding, and star gazing, if you’re still here by nightfall!
The park is open from Monday through Thursday and Sunday from 6:00am to 8:00pm and Fridays and Saturdays from 6:00am to 10:00pm, 365 days a year. Guided hikes are also available. For more information, call (623) 932-3811.
