The Phoenix Zoo opened in 1962 and is known as the largest nonprofit zoo in United States. Situated in Phoenix, the zoo operates on 125 acres of land in the Papago Park. It has also been designated as a Phoenix Point of Pride. It has almost 1,200 animals that are on display with 2.5 walking trails and such attractions. Founded by Robert Maytag, this zoo is a must see whilst in Phoenix.
