In spite of such a large area the population here is extremely less. As per the last survey of the American government the number of people living here in the city is just 457. These 457 people include the hotel and motel owners in the city and some families. The climate of the city is hot and humid and for the major portion of the year the city is completely arid. Such climate does not support agriculture. There are many hotels and motels in the city because the interstate highway 46 passes through the city.
