Painted Desert
Painted Desert has been the name given to a wide region of ‘badlands’ situated in Arizona’s northern part, within the US. This desert goes on to stretch from ‘Grand Canyon National Park’ to ‘Petrified Forest National Park’. As such, it runs roughly across Puerco rivers and Little Colorado. The region within Petrified Forest national Wilderness has also been known by the name ‘Painted Desert Wilderness’. Hopi people have been staying in this region for around 1000 years.
Grand Canyon National Park
This national park is amongst the most ancient national parks all over the world. Grand Canyon, gorge of Colorado river lies in this park. Around 4927 sq. Km of ‘unincorporated region’ in ‘Mohave County’ and ‘Coconino County’ is being covered by this park. Arizona Highway 64 would help in reaching to this tourist destination.
