Tubac Presidio State Historic Park
This park performs the task of preserving an ancient Community Hall and School House; along with debris from the constructions as old as 2 to 3 centuries. It comprises of a museum, picnic area, and archaeology display. Tubac Presidio State Historic Park is located at a distance of 45 miles on the southern side of Tuscon. In the year 1974, archaeologists hailing from ‘University of Arizona’ went on to excavate parts of presidio. In the year 1976, ‘underground archaeological display’ was made available; thereby enabling visitors to view parts of original foundation, plaza floor, and walls of 1752 ‘Commandant’s quarters’, along with artifacts which represent various time-spans of unique history of Tubac.
Timings
This park remains open from Monday to Sunday between 8:00 and 17:00. It is situated at an elevation of 3500 feet (from sea level).
