A former prison which got closed in 1909, it is run as a state historical park named as the Yuma Territorial Prison State Historic Park. The seven acres of park on a bluff above the Colorado River in Yuma is situated at the Fourth Avenue Exit to the south from Interstate 8. This park is in the heart of the Sonoran Desert at an elevation of 140 feet. This park is one of the reasons which attract lots of visitors to Yuma.
