Forrest City is the county seat of St Francis County in Arkansas of United States.
Also known as Jewel of Delta and is considered to be the business and industrial hub for eastern Arkansas. The city was named after General Nathan Bedford Forrest who used this place as a campsite for construction of a rail road between Memphis and Little Rock just after the civil war.
The first trains were launched in the year 1868. Earlier while constructing the railway line the workmen over here found fossils of huge beasts which were also known as hoods.
Set in the midst of beautiful landscape, this place attracts tourists for its rich cultural heritage and various sightseeing. Visiting this place is worthwhile.
The climate of this place is quiet moderate and can be visited at any time of the year.
The population of this place is 14,078 according to 2006 census.
