Greenwood is a beautiful city and is in and one of the two county seats of Sebastian County in Arkansas. This city is known locally for its Arkansas high school football dominance in of the past few years.
Greenwood is also the fifth largest municipality in the Fort Smith, in Arkansas Oklahoma Metropolitan Statistical Area. As per the United States Census Bureau, Greenwood has a total area of 9.3 square miles, of which 9.2 square miles is covered with land and the other 0.1 square miles is spread with water.
The population of Greenwood was 8,240 as per the 2005 US Census Bureau estimates. And as per the 2000 census, the population of Greenwood was 7,112 people, out of which 2,508 households and 2008 were families residing in Greenwood.
The climate of Greenwood is hot during the summer season with temperature scoring to 80s and during the winters the temperature is cold with 40 degree. July month is the warmest month of the year and January is considered to be the coldest month of the year.
