Jonesboro is a city located in Craighead County in Arkansas, USA. The city has around 60,000 residents and is spread over an area of approximately 207 sq km. The city has been named in honour of William A Jones, a State Senator. The earliest inhabitants of this area were Native Americans like the Osages, Caddoes and Quapaws.
This agriculture dominated economy has excellent produce of cotton, soybeans, fish, rice and other similar products. Riceland Rice, one of the largest mills in the world, is also located in Jonesboro.
The city enjoys a pleasant climate throughout the year and can be visited at any time of the year. Summer in Jonesboro is warm and humid, whereas winters are cool and pleasant.
