The Prairie Grove Battlefield State Park protects the battle site and also interprets the Prairie Grove Battle which took place in 1862. One can take a look and walk around the ridge and in the valley wherein there was heavy fighting that had taken place. Moreover, one can take the one mile Battlefield Trail and also travel the five mile driving tour of the park. There are also many activities which take place at the park like lace making demonstrations, historical programs and such events.
