The Junction Bridge was originally constructed in 1884 by the Choctaw and Memphis Railroad. It was totally operated by the Union Pacific Railroad. The Bridge was a joint project for the pedestrian walks and for bicycle use and connected to both sides of the Arkansas River. This bridge carried trains across this River until 1983 when its activity of train service ended.
