Village Creek State Park
This park got opened in the year 1994. It’s heavily forested with size of around 440 hectares, i.e. 1090 acres. The name ‘Village Creek State Park’ has been given due to ‘Village Creek’, a sand bottomed and clean free-flowing tributary of Neches River. Forested region goes on to feature cypress swamps; inclusive of water tupelo, bald cypress, yaupon holly, mayhaw, and river birch trees.
Lake Dunn
Lake Dunn consists of ‘earthen construction’. The height is fifty feet; with length of around 620 feet. Storage capacity is ‘1174 acre feet’. It happens to have drained a region of 1 sq. miles. Maximum discharge comes out to be 627 cu. feet/second. Lake Dunn Dam was constructed for recreation purposes. It came in to force from the year 1975. Surface area during normal levels is 68 acres.
