The city of Branson, referred to as the Family-Friendly Las Vegas, is located in Taney County in the state of Missouri, USA. It lies at the heart of the Ozark Mountains and is ‘watered’ by its three lakes: Taney Como, Table Rock and Bull Shoals, which offer recreational activities for tourists and locals. The city is served by the Branson Regional Airport which is about a 60 km ride away.
Branson has a pretty cold winter season, with temperatures going below –1°C in the months from November–January. May signals the real start of summer, which sees temperatures of 30°C and above till September.
The last census showed Branson with a population of just over 6,000 people. During the tourist seasons however, this figure goes up substantially, and one will find accommodations overloaded with tourist bookings.
