The ‘Town of Apple Valley’ has been located in San Bernardino County’s Victor Valley, in California, US.
Its incorporation took place on 14th of November, 1988. Moreover, it’s one amongst the 22 incorporated municipalities within California which makes use of the word ‘town’ in place of ‘city’.
Apple Valley lies at a distance of 20 Km on the eastern side of Victorville, 60 Km on the southern side of Barstow, and 74 Km on the northern side of ‘San Bernardino’ via Cajon Pass.
In 1900s, Ursula M. Poates went on to plant 3 apple trees (in her yard) for convincing prospective land-owners about importance of growing fruit; especially in Mojave Desert.
The area was called ‘Apple Valley’ by her. Official recognition was followed with establishment of post-office in the year 1949.
As per US Census Bureau, area of Apple Valley is 190.7 sq. Km; out of which 0.8 sq. Km consists of water. The population as per 2006 census was 67507.
