Tourist Guide Avalon
Avalon is the only city on the Santa Catalina Island besides a small unincorporated town of Two harbor which is populated.
It is the southern most city due to its location on Catalina Island in Los Angeles County, California, with a population of over 3,500.
The climate of Avalon is a very mild sub-tropical with warm temperatures all year long.
Avalon is a rural town with the general tourist- oriented business and services lined along the coastline.
The older parts of the town closer to the shoreline are full of small houses and two-three storey buildings in traditional architectural styles.
Other than the town itself the main attractions comprise of various trails in the hills that surround the town, the Wringley memorial and Botanical Gardens just outside the town in the hills of the southwest.
