Established in 1956, the Bakersfield Museum of Art offers a broad spectrum of visual arts through exhibitions and such preservation of fine arts and educational programs. There are also provision of community and such special events which are held at the museum. The purpose of the museum is to increase total awareness and also understanding of the visual arts in the minds of the people. Moreover, it endeavors to promote and support the vital role of the arts play in development of youth.
