In the month of July in the year 1934, a group of farmers went on to pull trucks on to an empty land called ‘Gilmore Island’; at corner of Fairfax and Third in LA, i.e. Los Angeles. Their produce was displayed on their vehicles’ tailgates. Moreover, to their pleasure, customers arrived quickly and parked cars on ‘dirt parking lot’. Likewise, a full-fledged farmers market came in to existence. Initially, a ‘dairy farm’ was created. By the end of the year 1905, Gilmore Oil Company got formed.
