Snow Summit was established in 1952. It was conceived by the 1950 avid sportsman, Tommi Tyndall, who recognized skiing as a growing sport in South California. The construction of Snow Summit Inc. began in 1952 and by 1953, the first chairlift was completed and it became the first detachable chairlift of the nation. In 1966, Snow Summit introduced night skiing, it was the first such operation in West US Night skiing business.
