The Big Bear Discovery Center opened in 1998 and is a prototype for urban forest Visitors Centers around the country. This center is a unique partnership with the US Forest Service. The center is the gateway to adventure and also a discovery in the great outdoors. Moreover, it is an educational and an informational portal to the San Bernardino National Forest.
