Reviews
Big Sur is situated in the central region of California coast from where the Santa Lucia Mountains rise from the Pacific Ocean. Big Sur is a popular tourist destination as it provides splendid views of the terrain. The region is surrounded by the coastline of the San Carpoforo Creek and the Carmel River, Los Angeles and San Francisco. The region is sparsely populated with only thousand inhabitants as per the 2000 census. The economy is mostly dependant on tourism. The rough topography of the region and the mild climate with sunny dry summers and cool wet winters make it suitable for the growth of redwoods, wild orchids and coniferous forests. The luxury hotels here provide excellent accommodation and one can enjoy the views of the spectacular coastlines along with the lush green hillsides. Big Sur has been named as the ‘Best Romantic Getaway’ and as one of the ‘World’s Greatest Destinations’ as per the National Geographic Traveler magazine.
