Blythe is a city situated in Riverside County in California in USA. It lies in the Colorado River Valley region which is an agricultural area near the Colorado River. The city was founded in 1916 and was named after Thomas Blythe who provided primary water rights to the Colorado River region in the year 1877. The city covers a total area of 25 sq miles out of which 24.2 sq miles is land. The city is surrounded by Ripley to the south, Arizona and Ehrenberg to the east and Vidal and Lost Lake to the north. The city had a population of 12,155 as per the 2000 census. The city has a library, a museum, 24 churches, 3 banks, a recreation center, a movie theater, 6 parks, 7 campgrounds, a golf course and more. The city experiences 275 sunny days on an average with July being the warmest month and January the lowest. There is very little humidity as there is only 4 inches of rainfall annually and no snowfall.
