The name of this city has been derived from diplomat ‘Anson Burlingame’. People are believed to lead a quality life over here. However, industrial growth got spurred in 60s and 70s due to proximity to San Francisco International Airport, thereby generating opportunities with respect to ‘airline support services’ near corridor of US Route 101.
