Carmel Mission Basilica was founded in the year 1771. This is also known as Mission Carmel and is considered as one of the most beautiful and authentic of the twenty one California Missions. This beautiful historic building is a Roman Catholic Mission Church and is part of the National Registry of Historic Places and also a US National Historic Landmark.
