Yorba and Slaughter Families Adobe is one of the oldest houses in this region. The Yorba family was the oldest one and the influential in the history of this region. It was Jose Antonio Yorba who was granted Rancho Santiago de Santa Ana covering an area of 60,000 acres in between present day. After that his son acquired the property. This property was later purchased by Fenton Slaughter. He raised cattle over there and died in the adobe in his last years. The adobe was a single storied building with four rooms. Visitors can still find the original furnishings in this place.
