Tourist Guide Dana Point
The city of Dana Point is situated in the southern part of Orange County in California. The city is bordered by the Pacific Ocean in the southwest, Laguna Niguel in the north, north western side by Laguna Beach and San Clemente towards the east. As per the 2000 census the population of the city was found to be 35,110. The city has been named after the promontory of the city, Richard Henry Dana who was the junior author of Two Years before the Mast. The Census Bureau of United States of America has found that the city has a total area of 76.2 km² of which 17.2 km² is under the coverage of land and 59.1 km² is water. As more than 75%25 of the total area is under water, fishing and agriculture is the major economy producing areas of interest. It also houses a Capistrano Coordinated School here. Around 47%25 of the people here are religious which means that they are associated with some religion, out of which 31 percent are Catholic, 8%25 are Protestants and the rest worship either Jewish, Islam, Hinduism, etc. The city averages 275 sunny days every year with an average of 20 degrees. In winters temperature falls below 0 degrees and the region also gets mild to moderate snowfall.
