Escondido: Attractions and more...
The city of Escondido is filed with lots of places of interest and attractions that attract millions of tourists every year.
The Grand Avenue and downtown is generally teeming with tourists. There are numerous art galleries, cafes and restaurants. Escondido Public Library is also located in this area.
Nature lovers can visit the San Diego Animal Park located in the city. This animal park and the zoo nearby houses endangered wild animal species from other continents - Asia, Africa, Europe and Australia.
These animals are not caged and can roam around or fly within the park area. The semi-arid climatic conditions in the park mean that flora and fauna flourish here.
The city possesses 3 large lakes. Lake Wohlford is situated on the north-eastern side of the city and is famous for fishing and boating. Dixon Lake lies on the northern side and is also well known for boating.
