Indio can be described as a city located in county of Riverside, California, US.

Indio lies at the distance of 42 Km on the eastern side of ‘Palm Springs’, 113 Km on the eastern side of Riverside, 134 Km on the eastern side of San Bernardino, and 201 Km on the eastern side of Los Angeles.
‘Indio’ is a Spanish word for ‘Indian’.

As per US Census Bureau, area of Indio, on the whole, comes out to be 69.2 sq.Km; out of which 0.04%25 consists of water. This city receives rainfall of around 3 inches every year.  Snowfall does not occur. July proves to be the hottest month; with temperature of around 107 degree F; whereas January to be the coolest; with temperature of around 39 degree F.

Indio had been discovered by A.G. Tingman, i.e. boss of a Southern Pacific Railroad construction.

According to census conducted in the year 2000, population of Indio was 49116; with its density being 710.5 per sq. Km.
