Inglewood lies in the south west of Los Angeles County in the state of California in the United States. The city covers a total area of 9.1 sq miles and has a population of 115,208 inhabitants as per the 2003 census.
The city experiences warm summers and cool winters with August being the warmest month and December the coldest. The average annual precipitation in the city is 13.15 inches and rainfall is evenly distributed throughout the year. February is the wettest month.
The early inhabitants of the region used the natural springs that were present in the Edward Vincent Jr. Park and were named as sentinels or centinelas. The arrival of the railroad in the region was the starting point of the establishment of the city of Inglewood.
The city is now an industrial and residential suburb of Los Angeles. It is an oil producing region which also manufactures electronic equipment, plastics, motor vehicle parts, furniture and processed food.
