Irvine lies in the state of California in the United States in Orange County. This well planned city has a population of 202,079 according to the 2007 census. There are several educational institutes and colleges in the city and it is also home to a number of corporations in the technology sector.
The city of Irvine has held the title of the safest city in the United States since 2005. Other cities nearby include Newport beach, Lake Forest, Costa Mesa, Tustin, Aliso Viejo and Santa Ana.
Being in the coastal region of southern California the city has a Mediterranean climate where summers are warm and hot and the winters are cool and humid with temperatures rarely falling below zero.
