Tourist Guide Joshua Tree National Park
Joshua Tree National Park is located in south-eastern California, USA. It lies 240 km east of Los Angeles and is wedged between the borders of San Bernardino County and Riverside County. One can fly into the neighbouring Palm Springs or take the longer but cheaper route from Los Angeles.
This 800,000 acre park has two desert ecosystems—the Colorado Desert (which occupies the eastern half of the park and has creosote bush and cholla cactus) and the Mojave Desert (which is at a higher elevation and is home to the park’s namesake, the Joshua tree). The prime geological features of the terrain are hills of bare rock and loose boulders.
The cool winter season experiences temperatures of around 15°C, while the hot summers have average temperatures crossing 38°C. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit the park.
