General opinion:  The Spanish meaning of La Jolla means “the jewel” and is the jewel of the America’s finest city San Diego.
It is wealthy and hilly seaside resort having a population of 42,808.
The bordering begins from the Pacific Ocean in the south and stretches along the ocean north to also include Torrey Pines State Reserve that ends at Del Mar. this is just 15 minutes from downtown San Diego having lovely beaches, culturally rich heritage, natural scenery and friendly people.
In addition to all the tourists attractions it is also known for renowned institutions ... More like the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, the Stephen Birch Aquarium & Museum, University of California etc making it an important place in terms of tourism and economy.
This is an area of lovely scenic natural beauty having a mixture of geology that includes sandy beaches and rocky shorelines giving the tourists variety of outdoor activities like mountaineering, biking etc. Also there are a number of parks and shopping areas for recreation and enjoyment.
